585 posts · Joined 2018. #2 · May 28, 2018. A major issue on these engines is the cam follower ,which sits on top of the fuel pump. You need to check this if you have not had it replaced ,as if this fails it will be a new engine. If everything seems to be under control - your not driving fast enough. B.
The gas engine lineup is turbocharged compared to the naturally aspirated engines on the predecessor. This means more problems for you as an owner. The base model in the lineup is a turbocharged four-banger with 2.0L of displacement, then follows the 3.0L V3 TFSI engines, two of which are plug-in hybrids and the big one in the SQ7 is a 4.0L
That and the fact that all transverse platforms use haldex quattro instead of torsen quattro makes these pretty bad picks if you want something reliable. I recommend researching the difference between torsen and haldex quattro systems as well as the different generations of the (2.0 TFSI) EA888 engines.
