The Canon fared pretty well for control of distortion. It has the lowest levels of barrel-type distortion at 24-28 mm of the three in our comparison, measured at a maximum of + 0.8% at 24 mm, compared with +1.5% and +2.1% for the Sony and Panasonic, respectively.
5) Missing the semi-macro feature that the old Canon 24-105s used to have. They were typically around a 0.5 magnification ratio, where this isn't as good (around .1 to .3 through the zoom range). Respectable at .3, but not as good. I can't recall any old 24-105 lenses that had 0.5x macro
Oh, and that “Z” apparently standards for power zoom, which would mean the lens is aimed at videographers. Canon RF 24-105 f/2.8L IS USM Z RF-S 10-18 f/4.5-6.3 IS STM spotlight. Spazz. 20+ years in the photography industry. I have attempted to do it all, and succeeded at none of it. In the end I am a photography and camera gear nerd.
